Tandem Expands to Support Coordinated Access for Live-in Treatment

Since 2022, Tandem has supported more than 4,800 children and their families to connect with 24/7 crisis support and mental wellness services through one call, click or visit.

Beginning April 1, Tandem will expand to support coordinated access for live-in treatment across London-Middlesex, Huron Perth and Oxford Elgin. This change will help families connect easily to the mental health services they need through one clear entry point. 

This expansion reflects a broader provincial movement toward coordinated access in primary and mental health care, and builds on Tandem’s existing multi-agency collaborative model.

Our new, coordinated one-door model aims to simplify the path to care for families and providers will have a clearer view of available services across the region.

What’s Changing

Previously, families may have worked with CSCN for intake and referral for live-in treatment. Now, intake and referral will go through Tandem, which will serve the London-Middlesex, Huron Perth and Oxford Elgin areas. The centralized intake means that families will only need to share their story once, and providers will be able to more efficiently manage available system capacity.

What’s Staying the Same

Community-based services will continue to be offered by trusted, expert local partners who know their regions. Families can continue to access those trusted providers, who will now have access to a wider, more coordinated network of care options with one central referral point for live-in treatment through Tandem.
