Treatment Classrooms

Our treatment classrooms meet children’s education needs while participating in intensive services at Vanier. The W.D. Sutton School at Vanier is staffed and supported by the Thames Valley District School Board. The TVDSB teachers are assisted by child and youth counsellors to support students in small classrooms that rarely exceed eight students.

Vanier also offers an Early Intervention Program( EIP) and a Secondary School Day Treatment Program.  EIP is a combination of Junior and Senior Kindergarten treatment classrooms for children whose needs challenge the capacity of their community schools. The Early Intervention Program consists of three classrooms that provide full-day educational programming in a small-group setting of up to 8 students per class. Students in the program are attached to a Child and Family Therapist who provides therapy sessions to the child and the parents. For more information on the Early Intervention Program, please email eip [at] vanier.com (eip[at]vanier[dot]com). Our Secondary School Day Treatment program is for youth who need to challenge the capacity of their community schools. One secondary classroom provides full-day education programming in a small-group setting of up to 8 students. Students in the program are attached to a Child and Family Therapist who provides therapy sessions to the youth and, if appropriate, to the parents.
